It transitioned to a WTA 500 event, featuring global superstars like Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula. Now, the San Diego Open enters a new chapter in 2025 as an ATP Challenger 100, continuing its tradition of excellence while offering fans a more intimate look at the next generation of tennis champions.

From February 23rd through March 2nd, 2025, the San Diego Open transitions into an ATP Challenger 100 event, marking an exciting new chapter for the tournament. This change underscores our commitment to promoting competitive tennis while continuing to bring high-caliber professional matches to San Diego. The ATP Challenger Tour provides an essential platform for rising stars and established players to compete for valuable ranking points and experience on their journey to the highest levels of the sport.
